Whether you're making the pilgrimage, or (like us) will be there in spirit, there's no denying that this year's Splendour in the Grass lineup has some real corkers.
Here are some of our faves (in no particular order) at this year's show:
Is anyone else's life finally complete now that Wildflower has (at long last) been released? Although their Splendour show is being billed as their "only Australian show", the band's track record is giving me some faith that this might not be entirely true.
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard
The band's lastfm profile describes King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard as "completely fried theremin wielding psycopaths from Victoria". I feel like what the world needs now is (love, sweet love and) more theremins. Thank you, Kind Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard.
Evoking 60's soul crooners (à la Otis Redding + Sam Cooke), Texan singer/songwriter Leon Bridges has been described as a "a transmission straight from the heart". If you haven't listened to Leon, get ready to fall in love.
Formed by members of the Odd Future collective, The Internet is a neo-soul/hip-hop group from Los Angeles. Truth be told, it took me a while to decide to listen to The Internet (I just couldn't get past the name)... but boy am I glad I finally came around.
Ok, who doesn't love The Strokes? Seriously.
