Sometimes Launch

A short while back, we released the first edition of our in-house journal sometimes. We enjoyed making it and we hope you enjoyed reading it. So, we thought it was about time we made another.

This time around, we've extended our reach with a range of interviews and creative contributions from our nearest and dearest including Uniforms for the Dedicated, Stutterheim, Handsom, The Thousands and a host of others.

To celebrate, we're throwing a little bash with support from our friends at Rekorderlig Cider, Cake Wines and a very special performance from Mrs Bishop. It's happening next Wednesday and we'd love for you to join us.

Sometimes Launch
Wednesday 2 May, 6pm
Somedays, 72B Fitzroy St Surry Hills

Uniforms For The Dedicated 'Blue Cone Colony'

A perennial favourite among the lads around the office, Uniforms for the Dedicated return with their latest collection 'Blue Cone Colony'.

This season, they've teamed up with the Tree Hotel, a lofty oasis in the forests of northern Sweden, to present one hell of a look book.

True to form, there's a clear focus on sustainability with the extensive use of recycled and organic fabrics. The looks are rugged and comfortable with just enough quirk to peak our interest.

Take a look at our selection right here.

Numph

From where we're sitting, it's starting to look mighty grey outside. So, it seems only fitting to introduce Numph, a colourful new arrival from Denmark.

The brainchild of seven creatively minded ladies, Numph is a playful mish-mash of details, patterns and shapes. We've just taken delivery of our first drop with a range of tops, knits and dresses to see you through the season.

Take a look at our selection here.

This Must Be The Place Giveaway

In This Must Be The Place, Sean Penn delivers an incredible performance as Cheyenne, a retired, successful Goth musician living in Dublin with his down-to-earth wife, Jane (Frances McDormand.) When his father passes away, Cheyenne returns to America for the first time in 30 years and embarks on a trip that will change him forever.

Directed by Paul Sorrento and featuring a terrific soundtrack with music by David Byrne (Talking heads) and Will Oldham (Bonnie Prince Billy), This Must Be The Place is a wonderfully original film full of warmth, humour, humanity and lots of eye-liner.

Thanks to our friends at Hopscotch films, we've got 10 double passes to give away. Feeling lucky? Then shoot us an email with your name and address to media@somedays.com.au and you'll be in it to win it.

This Must Be The Place open in cinemas on Thursday the 5th of April.

Check out the trailer here.

Creative Types Wanted

We're on the hunt for a couple of creative minds to join our ever-growing empire of 'some' related concepts.

Junior Graphic Designer (1-2 days p/week)

First up, we're looking for a part-time graphic designer to work across a range of projects - primarily within the digital realm. We're not overly fussed about qualifications but an appropriate portfolio of work is a must. Attention to detail is paramount and you’ll need to have a firm grasp of current industry trends.

Copywriting Intern (1-2 days p/week)

Next, we need a budding wordsmith to take on some copywriting, social media and general content creation duties. This role will begin as an unpaid internship but there is a wealth of valuable experience to be gained for anyone looking to forge a path within the field. You’ll need to be comfortable with online technology and any previous experience will stand you in mighty good stead.

Both roles will be working out of our Darlinghurst HQ and our scheduling is fairly flexible.

Please send all applications to michael@someagency.com.au with a brief cover letter, resume and some previous examples of your work. Don't be shy now...

Headhunters Giveaway

Who doesn't love a good-old, nail biting, edge of your seat type thriller?

Headhunters is exactly that type of film.  Based on the best-selling novel by Norwegian writer Jo Nesbo, this fast-paced flick centres around the charming villain Roger Brown, a man who seems to have it all: he is Norway's most successful headhunter, married to beautiful gallery owner Diana, owns a magnificent house – and is living larger than he should. The unscrupulous Brown leads a life of excess and financed by dangerous art thefts.

When he meets the Dutchman Clas Greve he sees the chance to become financially independent and starts planning his biggest hit ever. But he soon runs into trouble – and it’s not his financial problems that are threatening to bring him down.

Thanks to Rialto, we've got 10 double passes up for grabs to catch this exciting release. So if you're in Sydney or Melbourne, drop us a line at media@somedays.com.au and you'll be in it to win it - remember to include your postal address.

Headhunters hits cinemas on the 8th of March 2012 - check out the official trailer here.

Summer by Somedays - Final Week!

As we prepare to bid a fond farewell to one of the coldest and wettest Sydney summers on record, it's also time for us to close the doors to our temporary summer shopfront.

There are few things we detest more than packing perfectly good gear away in boxes, and quite frankly, we'd much prefer to sell it off for cheap - real cheap.

We've re-stocked the racks with a fresh bunch of samples and previous season's stock and it's all up for the taking a bottom dollar prices - seriously.

It all ends on Sunday the 26th of February, so get in quick.

Open 7 days - 292 Crown St, Surry Hill.

Casting Call - Models Wanted

Are you ridiculously good looking? Do you know your Magnum from your Blue Steel? Well, if you answered a resounding 'no' to both these questions that you might just be what we're looking for.

We're on the hunt for some fresh faced models for our online store and a few other projects we have in the works. If you've got an interesting look and feel at ease in front of the camera then you've already fulfilled our basic criteria.

We don't take these things all that seriously, however, a little prior experience is always good. If you're wanting to beef up your portfolio and get noticed, this is a great way to go about it. We're looking for boys and girls in a variety of shapes and sizes, so if you're keen to get involved then please drop us a line at info@someplace.com.au.

NN.O7

Our first new addition for the upcoming season comes in the form of NN.07 - the brainchild of Danish lads Ulrik Pedersen and Victor Lindh.

Terms like 'timeless' and 'understated' seem to be thrown about with reckless abandon when discussing the current crop of menswear coming out Europe at the moment. And, without resorting to such descriptives, NN.07 is exactly that.

We've just taken delivery of a tidy selection of shirting in a variety of checks, stripes and solids. Fit and finish is of paramount importance and the clear attention to detail is evident in the small touches.

Take a gander in store or online here.
