"Better beer for Sydney" is the wonderful philosophy behind Sydney Craft Beer Week (SCBW). So mark your calendars, folks because from Friday 21 October to Sunday 30 October, SCBW will offer more than 100 events at over 75 different venues around Sydney.

With axe throwing competitions, hangover-crushing brekkies, beer-matched chocolate desserts and beer-guzzling history lessons, the SCBW program offers up a smorgasbord of glorious hoppy-goodness for both craft connoisseurs and occasional drinkers alike.

Here are some of our picks for the week!

All week long:
A Feast with Friends Free!
On offer all-week long, our neigbourly pals at Yulli's on Crown Street are collaborating with a range of brewers to bring us some splendidly matched beers to accompany Yulli's famed banquet menu.

Saturday 22 October:
Beer & Bone
Marrickville-based ethical butchers Feather & Bone have teamed up with Sailors Grave Brewery to bring you a sausage-making class followed by a BBQ and brews. Yeww bewwty!

Sunday 23 October:
Beer Through the Ages: A Beer History Experience $40
Knowledge is power and your main power source for this intriguing evening is beer! Travel through the ages, explore different civilisations and learn about the history of beer from the grain fields of Mesopotamia, Egypt, Scandinavia and beyond!

Tuesday 25 October:
Into the Wild Free!
From 7-9pm, the Local Taphouse in Darlinghurst is taking a walk on the wild side with its SCBW showcase of sour and naturally fermented beers! A lipsmacking evening guaranteed!

Saturday 29 October:
Hair of the Dog Breakfast $60
Rocks Brewing Co. in Alexandria are promising six epicly indulgent courses with six of some equally epic craft beers. Definitely a highlight of SCBW.
